Research direction

Start with client/src/components/Task/TaskModal.jsx and BoardContext, then locate the Task model mentioned in the issue. Trace how tasks are updated and supplied to the board. Done means a task can be archived from its modal and no longer appears on the board, while remaining stored.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

good first issue

Add archive button to hide tasks without deleting 🗄️

File: client/src/components/Task/TaskModal.jsx

Delete is permanent 💀 sometimes you just
want to hide a task without losing it fr!!

Fix: add archived field to Task model:
archived: { type: Boolean, default: false }

// add archive button in modal:
const handleArchive = async () => {
await updateTask(task._id, { archived: true })
onClose()
}

🗄️ Archive

// filter archived from board in BoardContext:
tasks.filter(t => !t.archived)

~10 lines across 3 files!
No data loss ever!! 🎯
