Research direction

Start by reading the TUI documentation for /thinking and tracing the command’s registration and handling in the TUI. Reproduce the behavior in a session with a reasoning capable model, then identify where the command opens the variant selector instead of toggling transcript visibility. Done when /thinking shows and hides reasoning blocks as the documentation describes.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

pending close triaging
Description

Expected Behavior: /thinking should toggle the visual display/visibility of reasoning blocks in the session transcript (as stated in the TUI docs).

Actual Behavior: Executing /thinking opens/triggers the reasoning variant selector instead of hiding/showing the thinking block.

2.1.2

Steps to reproduce

Launch OpenCode TUI (opencode).

Start a new session using a model with reasoning/thinking capabilities enabled.

Type and execute the command /thinking in the terminal input.

Observe the interface response: it opens the reasoning variant selector menu instead of toggling the visibility (show/hide) of the thinking block in the transcript.
