Research direction

Find the question tool schema decode path in the TypeScript code and inspect where invalid calls are handled. Reproduce the reported missing question error, then trace how the decoded arguments are passed to the tool. Done means a missing or blank question can be recovered from a nonblank header after strict decoding fails, while supplied questions remain unchanged.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Version: @opencode/cli 2.0.24.

Steps to reproduce: make the model call question with {"questions":[{"header":"Pick","options":[{"label":"A","description":"a"}]}]}.

Result: Invalid arguments for tool "question": questions[0].question: Missing key. The call is lost, and the model must ask again.

Cause: models often put the question text in header and leave out question. The intent is clear, but the strict schema decode rejects it.

Suggested fix: when question is missing or blank and header is not blank, use header as question. Never change a supplied question. Run this repair only after the strict decode fails, so valid calls do not change.
