Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue in FluidVoice 1.6.9 on macOS, using the configured exit hotkey during a dictation. Then trace the hotkey handling and dictation-cancellation flow; the payload does not name files or tests. Done means pressing the configured key cancels without freezing and allows a new dictation.

Description

bug stale
Describe the bug

I have tried to change the exit button when canceling a dictation with several different keys, and it still fails to cancel the dictation. I have used ESC, and a combo of other keys, but the dictation either freezes and I have to exit, or I have to keep hitting the key to enable a new dictation for me to start all over again.

Reproduction steps
  1. Start a dictation.
  2. Hit whatever key you have to hit in order to exit a dictation without pasting, and for me, it doesn't work.
Expected behavior

When I hit the ESC (or any hotkey chosen to exit) I should be able to cancel the dictation.

Actual behavior

Nothing happens and it freezes.
