Research direction

Start by inspecting package.json, README, and any skills manifest or CLI entry point in the repository to determine how Tencent/WeChatReading can be discovered and invoked. Run the proposed npx skills add Tencent/WeChatReading -g flow in a sandbox, then add documentation and a mocked or CI smoke test. Done means the skill appears in skills list and can be executed globally.

Description

Request: Enable installation of Tencent/WeChatReading via the skills CLI using the command:

npx skills add Tencent/WeChatReading -g

Motivation:

  • Users should be able to quickly add Tencent/WeChatReading as a global "skill" via the existing skills CLI (npx skills add -g).
  • This will simplify onboarding and make it easy to run the reader functionality without manual setup.

Expected behavior:

  • Running npx skills add Tencent/WeChatReading -g installs/configures the repository as a globally available skill.
  • The command should validate the repo, install any required binaries or entry points, and register the skill with the skills CLI so it appears in skills list and can be invoked globally.

Acceptance criteria:

  1. The skills CLI accepts the argument Tencent/WeChatReading and installs the repository as a global skill.
  2. After installation, the skill is listed by skills list and can be executed with the skills CLI.
  3. Documentation is added/updated describing how to install the skill via npx skills add <owner/repo> -g and any requirements for repositories to be installable as skills.
  4. Tests or a CI job verify the npx skills add flow for this repo (or provide a mocked smoke test).

Implementation suggestions:

  • Ensure the repository exposes the needed entrypoint (a CLI script or a clear npm package name) so the skills CLI can invoke it.
  • Add metadata in package.json (if publishing to npm) or in a skills manifest file that the skills CLI uses to detect entry points.
  • Update README with a "Install via skills CLI" section showing the npx skills add Tencent/WeChatReading -g command and post-install verification steps.
  • Add a small smoke test in CI that runs npx skills add Tencent/WeChatReading in a sandbox and verifies skills list shows the skill.

Notes:

  • If the skills CLI requires publishing to npm, consider documenting whether the repo needs an npm package or if the CLI supports installing directly from GitHub.
  • If there are any additional build or packaging steps required (e.g., transpilation, bundling), document them in this issue so implementers can follow them.
