Research direction

Start in src/components/layout/ExplorerSidebar.tsx and compare the clipboard import onSuccess with the Create Table flow using refreshAfterCreateTable and getCreateTableRefreshPlan. Check how the target schema is passed to refresh the PostgreSQL schema or MySQL database tree. Done means a newly imported table appears in the explorer without a manual refresh; verify by importing a table and checking the tree.

Description

bug
Describe the bug

After a successful Import from Clipboard into a new table, the dialog closes but the new table is missing from the explorer. It only appears after clicking the schema's (or database's) refresh button.

Cause (from the source at 780ed880): in src/components/layout/ExplorerSidebar.tsx the ClipboardImportModal onSuccess only calls refreshTables(), which refreshes the flat table list, and then bumps schemaVersion. The Create Table flow instead uses refreshAfterCreateTable → getCreateTableRefreshPlan, which calls refreshSchemaData / refreshDatabaseData for the per-schema (PostgreSQL) and per-database (MySQL) trees. Using the same refresh plan for the clipboard import, with the schema the import targeted, would fix it.

Two more effects of the current onSuccess:

  • The modal closes immediately, so its own success state ("… rows imported into …") is never visible.
  • Nothing hints at where the new table went, so it looks as if the import did nothing.
To Reproduce
  1. Connect to PostgreSQL with the schema tree (e.g. public).
  2. Copy a small TSV with a header row to the clipboard.
  3. Right-click a table → Import from Clipboard... → Create new table → name new_arrivals → Import N rows.
  4. The dialog closes and Tables (10) still shows 10 tables. The rows are in the database (SELECT count(*) FROM new_arrivals returns 6).
  5. Click the refresh icon on the public row: Tables (11) now lists new_arrivals.
