Research direction

Start with docs/ADDING_APPS.md and the gitea entry in src/catalog/apps/batch-19.js, which shows the url field pattern to copy. Add the Nextcloud definition to the most fitting file in src/catalog/apps/, using Basic auth with the OCS-APIRequest: true header and GET /ocs/v2.php/cloud/user?format=json as the connection test per the linked API docs. Done means npm run validate and npm test pass, the logo is generated with npm run logos -- <app id>, and any live testing is described in the PR.

Description

app request good first issue help wanted self-hosted app

Add Nextcloud to the catalog. It's a popular self-hosted app and a good first contribution: Conector already supports apps on your own server through a url field.

API documentation: https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/developer_manual/client_apis/

What we know so far (check it against the docs before relying on it):

  • Base URL: {url}, where {url} is a field with format: "url" (see the gitea app in src/catalog/apps/batch-19.js for an example).
  • Authentication: Username and an app password (Personal settings → Security → Devices & sessions), sent with HTTP Basic auth plus the OCS-APIRequest: true header.
  • Connection test: GET /ocs/v2.php/cloud/user?format=json returns the user.
  • What agents could do with it: Files over WebDAV, shares, Talk, Deck, Calendar and Contacts.

How to add it

  1. Follow docs/ADDING_APPS.md: add the definition to the most fitting file in src/catalog/apps/, with help text that leads people to the key in a few numbered steps.
  2. Run npm run validate and npm test, and generate the logo with npm run logos -- <app id>.
  3. If you run Nextcloud yourself, connect it in a local Conector and try a couple of requests from your agent. Say in the pull request what you tested.

Comment here if you'd like to take it, so nobody else starts the same work.
