Research direction

Start by locating the resource card rendering and filter bar in the DevShelf web app. Implement the bookmark icon, the Saved category with its count, client-side persistence under "devshelf_bookmarks", and Markdown export; done means saved resources can be restored, filtered, counted, and exported without an account.

Description

Feature Name / Concept

Local Saved Resources & Starred Shelf

Area of Impact

Web App UI / UX (devshelf.ritualdev.in)

Problem or Opportunity

Developers browsing DevShelf often find 4-5 tools they want to test later during a hackathon or sprint. Currently, they must copy individual URLs or open multiple tabs. A zero-account, client-side bookmarking mechanism would improve retention and utility.

Proposed Solution & Technical Details
  • Add a small bookmark/star icon (⭐ or 🔖) on the top-right corner of each card.
  • Clicking saves the resource ID to localStorage.getItem("devshelf_bookmarks").
  • Add a "⭐ Saved" category pill in the filter bar showing saved count.
  • Add an "Export My Shelf to Markdown" button to generate a snippet for personal READMEs.
