Research direction

Start by tracing how selecting a problem and the highlight solution button updates the visualization, then inspect the reduction request triggered when switching from Traveling Salesperson to Graph Coloring. Reproduce the delay in Chrome with the steps in the issue and identify whether the old visualization stays visible while the new one loads. Done means the old view is removed promptly and Graph Coloring appears without the reported long delay.

Description

bug
Steps to reproduce
  1. Selected Traveling Salesperson problem
  2. Selected highlight solution button
  3. Switched to Graph Coloring problem
  4. visualization remained on the TSP visualization for a long time (about 1 min) before switching

Could it be that the reduction algorithm is taking too long to complete?

Expected behaviour

When Graph Coloring is selected, at the bare minimum, remove the current visualization, and ideally load graph coloring viz immediately.
