Research direction

Start in components/pageblocks/SolveRowReact.js and inspect the solver info response and the existing tooltip display. The structured variable shape depends on ReduxISU/Redux#756, so wait for that contract before implementing the display and its fallback. Done means both structured and legacy complexity displays are covered by a test, and the unused tooltip default is removed.

Summary

The solver info popup shows a solver's Big-O as one string: O( + timeComplexity.Function + ) + timeComplexity.Description. Once ReduxISU/Redux#756 gives each formula a structured list of variables with plain-English meanings, the popup should show the formula and the variable meanings separately, for example:

Big-O: O(n * W)
where n = number of items, W = knapsack capacity

This is the part of the original Redux_GUI#317 review that was moved out of that PR so it could stay a one-line change.

Proposed work

  • Read the structured variables from the solver info response (shape to be decided in ReduxISU/Redux#756) and show them under the formula.
  • Keep adding O( ) and "where …" in the frontend, so the backend data stays plain.
  • Fall back to today's Function + Description display for any solver that hasn't been converted yet.
  • Clean up the unused complexity: "" default in the tooltip object in components/pageblocks/SolveRowReact.js.
  • Add a test covering both the structured and fallback display.
