Research direction

Start by locating the textbook source that uses the prooftrees package and inspect its tableaux formatting around wff format={anchor = base west}. Adjust the formatting so signed formulas left-align at the sign while branches and close markers remain aligned, then verify the affected tableaux render correctly.

Description

The prooftrees package centers the formulas in tableaux, but with signed tableaux it would make a lot more sense to left-align them at the sign.

This can be accomplished by using the global option

wff format={anchor = base west}

but then branching becomes lopsided and the close markers don't align.
