Idea

Let engineers play back a recorded Run in the client as if it were live, so they can review what the car did after a test.

Rationale

Most debugging happens after a test, but the live pages only show data as it arrives. Replay lets people use the same pages they know during a test to review a Run, find when something went wrong, and show it to others.

Approaches to explore
  • Where playback happens: the client stepping through historical data, or scylla-server re-publishing a Run so existing pages work unchanged.
  • Scope of the MVP: every live page, or only some (graph, map, BMS) at first.
  • Controls: play/pause, seek, speed, and how a replay is visibly distinguished from live data.
  • Live and replay together: whether replaying should be possible while the car is sending live data, and for one viewer or everyone.
