Research direction

Look at the supported_models list to understand the current model conventions. Examine existing model configurations and the PR template's 'New Model Checklist' for required parameters. Write a test that iterates through supported_models, validating config, class names, and input/output signatures. Run the test suite to ensure it passes for existing models and fails appropriately for non-conformant ones.

Add per-model testing for new technology models

As H2I matures, we have defined our technology models to have certain parameters, assumed naming schemes, and available inputs and outputs.
Currently, we don't programmatically enforce these conventions, but instead lean on the "New Model Checklist" in the PR template and reviewers to catch when contributions don't follow our established conventions.

Proposed solution

We could introduce testing for models in a few different ways.
I think the simplest is to write a test that loops through all of the models in supported_models and checks the config and model class names, input/output signatures, and anything else we've been enforcing via convention and PR review into a more strict check.
I imagine we might expand out the assumed model conventions more in the immediate future, especially as we move into non-annual or steppable models, so this issue is partially forward-looking.
