Research direction

Start by locating the timeline text rendering and the script-generated Table of Contents entry points, since the issue names no files or tests. Define how an option disables generated h2/h3 elements or changes the top heading level, then verify embedded timelines preserve the requested semantic structure and the resulting Table of Contents behavior.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

A variable to disable the application of <h2> and <h3> in the timeline text, or to change the top heading level, would come in handy. I am embedding timelines in a webpage and the built-in formatting is interfering with the semantic structure of the page sections, not to mention it is showing up in the script-generated Table of Contents.

(I understand active development has stopped, but if anyone is keen to help me implement this change, as I am not a developer and not very experienced with JavaScript, that would be great)
