Research direction

Start by finding the About dialog and the logo resource it loads, then check how that resource is included in the official .deb package. Reproduce the dialog on Linux and trace why the logo fails while the window icon works. Done when the product logo appears in the About dialog in the packaged app.

Description

bug
What version of Kimi Code is running?

kimi-code-app 1.1.1 (amd64), installed from the official .deb package. Note: this is the desktop GUI app — no kimi CLI binary is shipped in the package (kimi: command not found)

Which open platform/subscription were you using?

subscription

Which model were you using?

kimi-for-coding

What platform is your computer?

Linux 6.12.113+deb13-amd64 x86_64 unknown

What issue are you seeing?

What happened?

The About dialog renders a "missing image" placeholder (a ⊘ /
image-missing glyph) in place of the application logo, directly above the
"kimi-code" text. See screenshot 1.

Image

The window and taskbar icon render correctly (normal blue/white app icon),
so the app icon itself is installed — only the logo resource referenced by
the About dialog fails to load.

What did you expect to happen?

The Kimi Code product logo should be displayed in the About dialog instead
of the GTK "image-missing" placeholder.

Environment

  • OS: Debian GNU/Linux 13 (trixie) x86_64
  • Kernel: Linux 6.12.113+deb13-amd64
  • DE/WM: Xfce 4.20 / Xfwm4 (X11)
  • GTK theme: Adwaita-dark (GTK2/3/4)
  • Icon theme: Papirus-Dark (GTK2/3/4)
  • Display: 2048×1280 @ 165 Hz (16", built-in)
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 Max-Q + Intel UHD (hybrid graphics)
  • Install method: official .deb package (kimi-code-app 1.1.1, amd64)
  • Locale: zh_CN.UTF-8

Not yet checked: whether the License (许可) and Acknowledgements (鸣谢)
buttons show similar missing resources. Happy to test on request.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install kimi-code-app 1.1.1 from the official .deb on Debian 13.
  2. Launch the desktop app.
  3. Open the About dialog.
  4. Observe the logo area above the "kimi-code" label.
What is the expected behavior?

Just as normal app About

Additional information

Suspected cause / notes

Looks like a resource lookup failure rather than a theming issue: the
title-bar icon loads fine, so the About dialog is probably referencing the
logo via a path or icon name that doesn't resolve in this packaging — e.g. a
relative path broken after install, or an icon-name fallback that
Papirus-Dark doesn't provide, degrading to GTK's "image-missing" icon.
