Observed: server_state_path() is scoped only by $HOME, so two installs/configs sharing one $HOME overwrite a single PID record and cannot be stopped independently. The daemon-scoping work fixed the machine-wide pgrep collision (cross-$HOME), not the same-$HOME multi-config case.
Fix direction: key the state path by a hash of the resolved config path, and update every reader of server_state_path() accordingly.
Done when: two daemons under one $HOME started with different --config each get their own state file and tj stop terminates only its own.
