Research direction

Start by reading the keyboard’s handling of password fields and the suggestion strip, then check how Android autofill suggestions are surfaced to input methods. The issue does not name files or tests, so first locate those entry points in the project. Done means autofill suggestions can be used from the keyboard when a password field is detected.

When i use google keyboard during a login or password field the section above number row shows suggestion from the autofill apps like keepassdx
Describe the solution you'd like
A clear description of the feature or behavior you want.
Please show suggestion above number row instead of tools when the keyboard detects a password field
Use case
Explain how you would use this feature and why it is useful.
Currently I cannot use autofill from keepassdx via your keyboard. I have to change the keyboard use autofill and then come back to your keyboard again.
If the autofill suggestion is available then I could use it directly
