Research direction

The issue requests support for converting .exe files but does not specify an output format. First check how Filee registers supported input formats and whether executable files can be safely converted; clarify the expected conversion with the issue author before locating implementation or tests. Done should mean the agreed conversion is supported and tested.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
