Description

#630 ですでに質問が上がっていますが、私もこの地球儀キーの挙動が最初理解できずかなり混乱しました。論点を整理し、多くの人にとって理解しやすくわかりやすいUIに改善したいです。

前提

まず、一般的に「地球儀アイコン(🌐:以下、単に「地球儀」といいます)」は、IMEとして使用するアプリを丸ごと切り替えるものとして認知されていると思います。これは、普通AndroidでIME使用時に右下に出現する地球儀の挙動からも明らかだと思います。

そして、このアプリにはカスタムキーボード機能があります。見たところ、これはそれぞれ別個のIMEプロファイル(以下、IMEアプリではなくこちらをIMEと呼びます)ではなく、「カスタムキーボード」として一括りになるように見えます。そして、カスタムキーボード同士の移動は変換欄から行う仕様になっています。

加えて、現在「Sumire Input Β」は、同じキーボード1つが日本語・英語・数字を内包している、カスタムキーボードから見てとても特殊な状態になっています。

上記のような状態であるため、新規のユーザーにとっては「今、自分はなんのIME・IMEアプリを使っているのか」「カスタムキーボードは結局有効化できているのか」ということがわかりにくい状態になってしまっていると考えます。

提案

この問題の本質は、「今自分が使っているIMEが何かわかりにくい」「ボタンの意味理解が直感的ではない」ことにあります。そのため、IME切り替え時に1回だけ、変換欄に「今何のIMEを選択したか」を強調表示し、ユーザーの理解促進を目指します。

「Sumire Input β」には日本語・英語・数字に切り替えるボタンがありますが、これはIMEが変化しているわけではありません。そのためIME切り替え表示を行わないことで、ユーザーにも「これはIMEを切り替えたのではなく、同じIMEの中でキーが変化しただけ」ということが直感的にわかるようになります。

別に検討した案

キーボードレイアウトを「1画面1レイアウト」とし、同じレイアウト内で英語などに切り替えられる場合は別のレイアウトとして分離することも検討しました。具体的には、現在の「Sumire Input β」を「Sumire Input 日本語」「Sumire Input 英語フリック」「Sumire Input 数字」に分割し、左側のキーを上から「Sumire Input各種に飛ぶボタン」と「IMEを切り替えるボタン」にすることです。

「今自分が使っているIMEがわかりにくい」という問題が解決できれば、この実装は不要だと思います。
