Research direction

Start with the linked commit comment and DLMF 13.2, especially Kummer's transformation, the limiting form of 13.2.9, and the Michel and Stoitsov reference. Determine the required treatment of small arguments and integer or nearby-integer b values for Tricomi U. Done means the issue's requested cases are fully answered and supported by the package.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

To fully answer this comment, it takes Kummer's transformation for U and for integer b will require the limiting form of 13.2.9. In the vicinity of an integer b, probably the method of Michel and Stoitsov for Gauss' function would be useful.
