Research direction

Start by inspecting inst/extdata/merfish.zarr and its zmetadata, then compare the available experiment metadata across the package's data artifacts. The issue calls for agreeing on a minimal provenance standard and checking artifacts for compliance; done means the standard is defined and all data artifacts can be checked against it.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

The merfish.zarr in inst/extdata has zmetadata but I do not see anything that would constitute experiment metadata -- what is the source, what version of platform, etc. Can we state a minimal standard for experiment provenance and ensure that all
our data artifacts can be checked for compliance?
