Research direction

The request asks for a 3-second countdown that starts when a splayed hand is shown to the camera, but the issue does not say how hand detection should work or where it should live. This is design work: first agree on the detection approach and scope with the maintainers, since no comments or linked pull request exist yet. Done would mean a settled design, then an implementation that triggers the timer and captures the photo.

Feature description

Please add the feature that the android default camera has, where if you put your splayed hand up to the camera it starts a short 3 second timer then takes a photo.

Why do you want this feature?

I use this feature a lot when I know a picture didn't come out well, but I don't want to mess up my pose or knock over my phone trying to press the shutter button again
