Research direction

Start by locating the existing diff test suite and the diff algorithm implementation in the F# project. Read the current manual tests first, then identify properties that should hold across varied inputs. Done means the diff suite includes property-based coverage alongside the existing tests and all tests pass.

Description

kind:refactoring up-for-grabs

Currently, diff algorithm has some manual tests, but it could still be susceptible to various kinds of problems.

I believe that a good step forward would be to add property-based tests in addition to the current diff test suite.
