Research direction

Start by reading the existing app/error.tsx for styling conventions and lib/sentry.ts for the captureError helper the issue names. The new file is app/global-error.tsx, so reproduce the next build warning first to confirm the baseline. Done means the warning no longer appears and the fallback renders when a root layout throws.

Description

devops frontend good first issue

Description

next build warns: "It seems like you don't have a global error handler set up". Without app/global-error.tsx, errors thrown in the root layout aren't reported.

Location

New file app/global-error.tsx; existing app/error.tsx for styling; lib/sentry.ts (captureError).

Task

Add a client global-error.tsx that reports the error (Sentry docs pattern) and renders a minimal fallback with a retry button.

Acceptance criteria

  • Build no longer prints the warning
  • Fallback renders when the root layout throws

Good for contributors because

Well-documented Next.js + Sentry pattern.
