From Macroscope (a) on #976, raised by the implementer: the daemon check hard-codes /Applications/BrainBar.app/Contents/MacOS/BrainBarDaemon, but build-app.sh defaults to ~/Applications/BrainBar.app, so a self-built install would read as "served by a non-installed BrainBarDaemon". Lead ruling (2026-09-28): approved — the expected daemon is the one inside the running UI's own bundle (Bundle.main), DEV bundles still rejected. Not blocking v1.5.42: the Homebrew cask installs to /Applications, which is what both Macs run. Small PR, RED-first, Opus implements / Codex reviews.
