Research direction

Start with BrainBarBackupsHealthTests.swift, BrainBarAgentStoreWritesTests.swift, and BrainBarDashboardSnapshotTests.swift, where the audited BrainBarOnePagePresentation.derive calls omit observabilityCadence. Inject an explicit synthetic value such as .known(300) without changing BrainBarWindowRootView.swift or ObservabilityView.swift. Done means the authorized selection has no installed-cadence default evaluation and any focused test runs are separately authorized.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Summary

Existing BrainBar fixture test(s) omit explicit observabilityCadence when calling BrainBarOnePagePresentation.derive, so the default argument evaluates ObservabilityReader.installedHealthCheckCadence (a static let whose initializer reads the current-user health-check LaunchAgent plist via FileManager.contents when BRAINLAYER_HEALTH_CHECK_PLIST_PATH is unset).

  • Named unsafe fixture: brain-bar/Tests/BrainBarTests/BrainBarBackupsHealthTests.swift test_the_hero_and_the_one_page_summary_lead_with_the_job_alert (~L112–116) — derive(...) call omits cadence
  • Default: BrainBarWindowRootView.swift BrainBarOnePagePresentation.derive ~L442 observabilityCadence: ObservabilityCadence = ObservabilityReader.installedHealthCheckCadence
  • Reader: Dashboard/ObservabilityView.swift ~L254 static let installedHealthCheckCadence = healthCheckCadence(); ~L293–304 resolves env override or current-user plist path

Static audit of other derive call sites (frozen head; read-only)

File Cadence arg
BrainBarBackupsHealthTests.swift ~112 omitted (DCI-1 named)
BrainBarAgentStoreWritesTests.swift ~128 omitted
BrainBarDashboardSnapshotTests.swift ~277 omitted
BrainBarDashboardSnapshotTests.swift ~756 passes .known(300)
BrainBarOnePagePresentationTests.swift ~347 passes .known(300)

Incident (retained; do not repeat)

Broadened worker run selected 28 Swift tests including the named BackupsHealth fixture while BRAINLAYER_HEALTH_CHECK_PLIST_PATH was unset (reader-environment-presence.json; green-focused.log). That is an unauthorized production-path read attempt. File existence/contents were not inspected. The entire broadened 28-test run is excluded from isolation acceptance. Do not rerun that filter or inspect the live plist.

Expected fix (separate test-only packet; not this frozen patch)

  1. Inject explicit synthetic cadence (e.g. .known(300)) at the named BackupsHealth derive call and any other audited omitted call sites before authorizing them in a selection.
  2. Preserve production defaults / reader behavior unchanged.
  3. Acceptance: source audit shows no installed-cadence default evaluation in the authorized selection; focused receipt under separately authorized execution only.

Disposition

Root R1 ruling DCI-1 ACCEPTED-AND-ROWED. Pre-existing isolation gap; does not block accepted frozen capture-isolation source/PNG evidence. No edit to frozen head edafb100….
