Research direction

The issue does not identify files, tests, or an existing authentication entry point. Start by reading the project’s gateway and user-management documentation and locating how requests are authenticated; clarify the intended OAuth or SSO providers and scope with maintainers before proposing work. Done would mean an agreed OSS authentication design with tests, but the issue does not define acceptance criteria.

Description

We were looking at the roadmap and we noticed where almost all user management and authentication is being built for a commercial version of this product, would it be possible to at least build oauth or SSO into the Public/OSS version? Most of the gateways don't offer this so it would likely help with adoption for the gateway by providing something your competitors don't.
