Research direction

Start with the azure/activity_logs_monitoring code and inspect how its Azure Function model and Event Hub authentication are configured. Check the Azure Functions v4 managed-identity requirements and existing tests or deployment configuration. Done means the function can send activity logs to Datadog using managed identity without requiring a SAS key connection string.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Unable to ship logs to datadog using the azure/activity_logs_monitoring code with a managed identity. Only accepts the SAS key connection string for authentication between the event hub and the azure function. The function model used seems to be v3.0 instead of the latest v4.0 which allows the use managed identities.

Ultimately would like to move away from using SAS keys in our environment and the use of managed identities is preferred by most (if not all) orgs.

Creating this issue as I cannot see any asking for this improvement.
