Research direction

Start with .gitlab/lint/technical_linters.yml and tasks/linters.py; trace how the linter task receives the pull request context and currently invokes Ruff. The change is done when the presubmit lint checks only files changed in the PR while retaining the existing formatting check behavior.

Describe the feature you'd like

The CI jobs can fail for reasons unrelated to your PR.

  • .gitlab/lint/technical_linters.yml calls dda inv -- -e linter.python --show-versions
  • dda wraps tasks/linters.py, which invokes. ruff format --check --diff .

tasks/linters.py should look at only the files that were changed in the PR.
