Research direction

Reproduce the missing /goal behavior in Desktop 0.1.35, then inspect the slash-command handling around out/renderer/assets/workspace-screen-*.js and the bundled @commandcode/harness implementation in node_modules/@commandcode/harness/dist/index.js. Compare the behavior with the related /usage issue #70; done means /goal appears in the picker and /goal <objective> starts the goal workflow instead of returning Unknown command.

Description

bug
GUI version

0.1.35

Operating system

macOS (Apple silicon)

Reproduction steps
  1. Open Command Code Desktop 0.1.35.
  2. Open any project/session.
  3. Type / and search for goal.
  4. Observe that /goal is not present in the slash-command picker.
  5. Manually enter /goal test goal and submit it.
  6. Desktop returns Unknown command: /goal.
Expected behavior

/goal should be available as a built-in slash command and /goal <objective> should start the goal workflow.

The Command Code slash-command documentation lists /goal <objective>|clear|status.

Actual behavior

/goal is not shown in the Desktop slash-command picker.

Entering it manually results in:

Unknown command: /goal

This reproduces on Desktop 0.1.35 on Apple Silicon macOS.

Additional read-only diagnostics:

  • Command Code Desktop: 0.1.35
  • macOS: 27.0 (26A428)
  • Architecture: arm64
  • @commandcode/harness: 0.1.0
  • No custom /goal command exists at user or project level.
  • External Command Code CLI version: 1.58.1

The shipped Desktop bundle contains /goal-related implementation:

GOAL_CODE_FOUND=YES
Renderer JS files containing /goal: 1
Harness contains /goal: True
'goal clear': True
'maxTurns': True
'max-turns': True
'activeGoal': True

USER_CUSTOM_GOAL=NO
PROJECT_CUSTOM_GOAL=NO

Relevant bundled files:
out/renderer/assets/workspace-screen-*.js
node_modules/@commandcode/harness/dist/index.js

This suggests that goal support is included in the packaged Desktop application, but /goal is not being exposed or recognized by the Desktop slash-command layer.

Possibly related to #70, where another built-in slash command (/usage) is missing/broken in Desktop.
