Description

agent:review bug enhancement

Founder direction (Hubert, 2026-10-17). Reviewing the running application and conversation flows, two issues were observed in message actions and quoted messages:

What I see

  1. Duplicate "Create task" in message actions: When selecting a message, the toolbar (msg-acts) already offers "Create task" (+) beside the ••• (More actions) button. Clicking ••• opens a menu that again shows "Create task". This is redundant. Instead of repeating the task action in the popover menu, provide an affordance to place/add the message to the project map/thought ("Add to map" / "Create thought"), while keeping "Create task" on the primary toolbar and eliminating duplicate options.
  2. Cited / quoted messages styling: Using "Cite" on a message prefixes the lines with markdown > Author:\n> body into the composer. In the conversation stream and DM bubbles, MessageText and DmBubble render this as raw plain text with > symbols instead of a styled quote. The quoted text looks unformatted, rough, and inconsistent with Prostota / Spokój (needs soft volume, left accent/border, --sub fill, author tag/line, and proper APCA contrast).

Acceptance criteria

  • AC-1: The message ••• menu (useMenuItems in work/messageActions.tsx) removes the duplicate "Create task" entry since it is already present on the primary hover/focus toolbar (msg-acts__b). In project conversations, add an "Add to map" menu action (opening thought creation on the project map with this message as its source).
  • AC-2: Quoted / cited messages in conversation streams and DM bubbles are formatted as proper quotes: markdown > blocks are parsed and rendered with dedicated blockquote styling (soft --sub fill, rounded corners, subtle left accent line, author attribution, APCA-compliant secondary text, no raw > characters displayed as plain text).
  • AC-3: Touch gestures (swipe right to reply, long press for menu) and keyboard shortcuts (R to reply, T to create task) remain fully functional on mobile and desktop without regression.
  • AC-4: Add browser regression test(s) verifying that opening ••• does not contain a duplicate "Create task", "Add to map" is present in project conversation menus, and cited messages render a styled quote element without raw > markers.

Ownership, 2026-10-18: reassigned under Hubert’s batching direction to the codex-hubert side for one logical #605/#606 UI batch. No issue-specific active implementation or PR was found at transfer. Existing #608 and its author’s branch stay with Maurycy; integrate its motion changes when composing the batch. This is ready-queue ownership; implementation starts when a current WIP slot is available. All original criteria and dependencies remain required.
