Research direction

Start by locating the X.com rule in the ClearURLs rules database and check how its existing parameter cleanup handles s. Add the reported a parameter to the cleanup, then verify that both parameters are removed from the supplied URL while unrelated query parameters remain.

Description

https://x.com/Ihyvd014/status/2115497330082504960

Website address (URL):
https://x.com/kuruupdates/status/2115653182814613911?a=uimaJy3bBcbyfnLBrjs&s=20

What I did:
Clicked 'Share' -> 'Copy link'

What happened:
The a parameter is not removed, when the s parameter is.

What I expected instead:
The a parameter is removed. It's a unique fingerprint attached to each time the user presses 'Copy link'

Test with the Filter switch turned off:
With the filter off, it doesn't clear the s, but with it on, it clears just the s and not the a too

My versions:

  • ClearURLs version: (see the ClearURLs settings page, e.g. 1.27.3) 1.27.3
  • Browser + version: (e.g. Firefox 128) Firefox 158.0.1
  • Operating system: (e.g. Windows 11) Windows 11

Attachments:

  • Log export (ClearURLsLogExport.json), see step 3
