Research direction

Start by tracing how Ficus currently stores scope identifiers, looks up configs, and exposes config editing in the UI. Define how multiple friendly names should be persisted and resolved, then verify that aliases work for config lookup and are available while editing configs.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

For instance, hostname (W10DT0001) isn't a very memorable name for a computer, and that computer definitely has a better name like FRG-4C or Room 1234 or something. Ficus should be able to store mappings from scope identifiers to friendly names (potentially more than one, as computers can go by multiple things), and use those to look up configs, and in the ui when editing them.
