Research direction

Start in pages/_app.tsx or the layout wrapper, then inspect Layout.tsx and the main content wrapper. Add a keyboard-focus-only skip link targeting main-content and ensure it works across layouts and routes. Done means keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass navigation and jump to the main content area.

🌟 Feature Description

Add a “Skip to Main Content” accessibility link at the top of the application.
This link will allow users—especially keyboard-only and screen-reader users—to bypass the navigation bar and jump directly to the main content area.

Labels: feature accessibility good first issue

🔍 Problem Statement

Currently, the application does not include a skip link.
Users navigating via keyboard must tab through multiple navigation elements on every page load, which hurts usability and fails to meet WCAG 2.1 standards.

🎯 Expected Outcome

A fully functional Skip to Main Content link that:

Appears only on keyboard focus

Jumps directly to the

content area

Works across all layouts and routes

Improved accessibility and a smoother experience for users relying on keyboard navigation.

Technical Implementation Overview:

Add the skip link to pages/_app.tsx or layout wrapper

Add id="main-content" to the main wrapper in Layout.tsx

Add styling so the skip link is hidden until focused
