Research direction

Review the existing screening routines and the newer screening routines mentioned in the issue, focusing on low-temperature cases that produce factors around 1.e100. Determine whether a cap is needed and define the expected behavior before identifying the relevant tests or validation cases.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

At low T, we can get really large screening factors (~ 1.e100 or so) -- these might not matter because the rates themselves are very small, but I wonder if we should have a cap on how large the screening factor can be?

Maybe the new screening routines do a better job?
