Research direction

Start at the burn calculation where sneut is evaluated and inspect how runtime parameters are defined and passed. Determine an appropriate insignificance comparison with the specific energy e, then verify that the runtime option skips neutrino cooling only when enabled and the threshold condition is met.

Description

reactions student project

We can evaluate sneut at the start of a burn, and if we find it is small (much smaller than the specific energy, e, then we can ignore it and save a lot of computation. This should be enabled via a runtime parameter.
