Bug: Build failing on armv7l (Raspberry Pi)

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Clone the repo at tag v0.12.1
2. Make the following changes

1. How can I get this to build? It used to work fine with the version v0.11.0
2. Is this dependency really needed to build the "final" version?
