Shaun is reporting some inconsistencies with the way atom-shell Desktop Notifications are happening on Mac.

We should support Growl notifications for Mac for those users who have it installed.

Investigate the current notification implementation in the cuttle codebase, likely in main process files. Check if Growl is still relevant and if there is a node.js library (e.g., node growl) that can be used. Consider that the issue is from 2015 and may need maintainer input on whether it's still desired. Look at linked Atom Shell documentation and possibly the electron notifications package.
