描述

In Webstorm when you edit the package.json it provides intellisense for dependencies version. So when you Type the package name and go to type in the version a drop down will populate with the various version which are listed on the npm registry (not just the latest version).

Can we bring this feature to VSCode? Much thanks!

Investigate how VSCode's built in npm support provides autocomplete for versions. The relevant code is likely in the npm extension under extensions/npm. Look for the completion provider that currently suggests only the latest version. Modify it to call the npm registry API (e.g., https://registry.npmjs.org/{package}) to fetch all versions. Ensure to handle pagination and caching. Also consider updating the tests.
