Description

Goal

Component to parse, apply, and generate unified diffs/patches correctly for Markdown and/or generic text. Useful for document/code review automation.

Scope/Features

  • Parse "diff" format patches

  • Optionally: generate patches from pairs

Research direction
Study the unified diff format and evaluate the candidate crates (diffy, similar, difflib). Decide which crate best fits the requirements of parsing, applying, and generating patches. Implement parse(input) > list<patch>, apply(input, patch) > string, and generate(original, modified) > patch functions in Rust, using the chosen crate. Write tests to verify correctness.
