Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by locating the renderer, layout, and SVG output entry points, then trace how positions, bounding boxes, and color attributes are represented. Done means the geometry and Color types support the listed operations and Graphviz color formats for SVG use.

Description

enhancement

The renderer needs foundational types that all other modules depend on. This includes geometry primitives: Point, Rect, and BBox: with operations like translate, union, center, and containment checks. These are used throughout layout and rendering to represent positions, bounding boxes, and spatial relationships.

This also includes a Color type with parsing support for the formats Graphviz accepts: X11 named colors (~150 names like red, steelblue), hex codes (#RRGGBB, #RRGGBBAA), comma-separated RGB decimals, and HSV decimals. The parsed representation should normalize to { r, g, b, a } for use in SVG output. This covers the color, fillcolor, fontcolor, and bgcolor attributes.
