Description

A note from Uwe Ligges of CRAN:

For the future: Is there some reference about the method you can add in the Description field in the form Authors (year) doi:.....?

I don't know about DOIs. Anyone have a thought on this? Is it only appropriate for packages associated with a research paper?

Research direction
Investigate the use of DOIs in R package DESCRIPTION fields. Check the existing DESCRIPTION file in the repository. Read the CRAN note and comments. Determine if a DOI reference should be added, and if so, which DOI. Modify the DESCRIPTION to include the DOI in the Description field as per CRAN suggestion.
