Description

A feature request: The new autoclose option is really nice, however, it would be nice with another option that made it possible to automatically open the fromdate when a todate was selected, and then first update when both options are selected.

Research direction
To implement this, first study the existing date input implementation in Shiny's source code (e.g., dateInput in R and its JavaScript binding). Look at the R function definition and the corresponding JavaScript file in the shiny package (inst/www/shared/datepicker). Then, design a new input binding for a date range following the same pattern. Consider using an existing date range picker library like daterangepicker for the frontend. Since the issue is old and has no responses, it would be advisable to discuss the design with maintainers via a new issue or the Shiny community.
