'[ foo  ]'

Expected output: [ foo | bar ].

Interestingly, it does work when removing some of the whitespace around the |:

  • [ foo| bar ] => [ foo|bar ]
  • [ foo|bar ] => [ foo|bar ]

But:

  • [ foo |bar ] => [ foobar ]
