Follow-on from #41. This is often noticed or discussed, but not sure it's widely understood. Things to cover (with links):

  • What is parallelized (prior to 2013 there wasn't parallelization)
  • What CloudFormation scenarios can be slower than non-CloudFormation API usage?

Then, research AWS documentation on CloudFormation parallelization and common performance bottlenecks. Look at existing sections in the og aws guide related to CloudFormation and performance to determine where to place content. Consider capturing real world examples or community discussions from forums or blog posts. Prepare a draft covering the two points mentioned: historical parallelization (pre 2013) and scenarios where CloudFormation is slower than direct API calls.
