Open StarTer Village is a tabletop game developed by the Open Culture Foundation and volunteers to promote open culture. Not only is the board game itself licensed as open-source, allowing everyone to freely access, modify, and distribute it, but the Open StarTer Village website is also developed using open-source software, and all of its code is open-source. As advocates for open-source, we are committed to upholding a culture of respect and kindness. Therefore, we are announcing the following collaborative rules as guiding principles for achieving the above goals:

【Rights Attribution Notice】 For contributing to this board game project, according to the nature of your contributions, those contributing to the source code must release their code under the MIT license terms. Contributors of text, images, concepts, and other elements should agree to release the works and materials produced in this project under the CC0 public domain declaration (https://tw.creativecommons.net/publicdomain/) for public use.

Please agree to the aforementioned licensing before contributing to the board game collaboration. Your engagement in the collaboration implies acceptance of the aforementioned licensing and release conditions.

Regarding the OCF's external release of board game-related outputs, the following licensing methods apply: Source Code: Released under the MIT license Published materials, content, and shared folder contents: Released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, attributed to OCF. Main visual aspects and images related to the prototype version (up to and including 2021): Released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, attributed to Shiny.

During the creative process, it's crucial to verify that individuals have legal authorization when incorporating others' work to prevent potential disputes. The adaptation of rights for board game versions, as well as teaching materials, developed in collaboration with different partners, is done in accordance with the requirements specified by each cooperating unit. The records of related project derivative versions are as follows: Open StarTer Village, 2022 First Edition. (Developed in collaboration with the German FNF Norman Freedom Foundation): Released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, attributed to OCF and FNF. Open StarTer Village, 2022 Second Edition. (Developed in collaboration with the German FNF Norman Freedom Foundation): Released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, attributed to OCF and FNF.

【Contributor Feedback Methods】 The dedication and contributions of contributors to the board game project will be highlighted in the following ways: For the online game version: A dedicated community page to specify the division of game design and the names of individual volunteers responsible for each area. For the physical board game: A gratitude section will be planned in the game manual, detailing the division of game design and the names of individual volunteers responsible for each area.

【Code of Conduct for Contributors】 Respect and embrace the unique perspectives of all participants based on nationality, culture, and beliefs. Conduct constructive and fact-based communication and discussions with good intentions, taking responsibility for one's own words and actions. Open StarTer Village strictly prohibits the following behaviors: Discriminatory actions, including any form of targeted provocation, offense, misrepresentation, or differential treatment based on gender, sexual orientation, race, appearance, religion, age, physical condition, or personal identity. We will address such matters with ethical counseling, warnings, expulsion, or legal intervention depending on the severity.
