Research direction

Start in the README's phase diagram and Release Phases section, then compare them with the linked “Evolving the Node.js Release Schedule” blog post. Update the README to explain the Node.js 27 Alpha phase, link to the post, and include the relevant information as a follow-on step; done means the diagram and description are consistent.

Description

Release-agenda

The README now includes Node.js 27 in the phase diagram showing Alpha and Current phases. This is out of sync with the description in Release Phases which has no mention of any Alpha phase.

Suggestion

  1. Link to the blog post Evolving the Node.js Release Schedule, March 10, 2026, which announced the plan to release Node.js 27 Alpha in Oct 2026.
  2. Incorporate the relevant information from the blog post directly into the README as a separate follow-on step
