There does not seem to be a way for external AIs and LLMs to list the skills from Nextcloud.
I'm not sure if there is a way that the internal assistant can list them either or if it just starts with them.

Describe the solution you'd like
A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

I would like a Tool that can be used through MCP that gets a skill list, and at the same time one that allows a RAG implementation to pull a specific or list of likely skills relating to a certain sentence.

For example, one cool call would just list all of the skills, maybe to a certain number like 10. It can give the names and a short description of each.
Then the AI can call it later.

The other tool would be the same thing, except for the AI can pass in a string which is sort of a description of what the skill is supposed to be.
This would allow the AI to do is instead of looking through a huge list of tools, it could pass in a description and get back just a few of the most prominent tools, given its search. That would allow it to save on tokens from being pasted a huge list and then from there it could just call the skill it wants. Again, this would just return names and short descriptions so that the AI could determine which skill is the best for itself of the shortlist and then call it using a tool.

This would be an incredible feature, but I don't expect it, and that would be that if Nextcloud has a MCP server that is being fed to it that also provides skills that you could merge them. Whenever a skill request is involved it would behind the scenes search its own skills and the skills of the. MCP server attached and pick out the best one. That way you wouldn't have a disjointed system where you have multiple skill systems that don't really interact with each other.
