Description

What

There are commented-out code blocks scattered across the FE codebase (dead code left behind from refactors or experiments). These add noise and make the code harder to read.

Task

Do a codebase-wide sweep and delete any block-commented code that is no longer relevant. Use judgment — leave comments that explain why something works the way it does, but remove chunks of old code that are commented out rather than deleted.

How to find them

# Find likely candidates (commented-out JSX or TS)
grep -rn '//' src/ | grep -v 'node_modules' | grep -E '//\s+<|//\s+const|//\s+return|//\s+import'

Acceptance criteria

  • No block-commented code remains that represents old/unused logic
  • Explanatory comments (describing why, not what) are left in place

Use grep to find commented out code blocks in src/, excluding node modules. Review each candidate: remove blocks of old code that are commented out, but keep comments that explain why. Use grep patterns like '//\s+<' for JSX, '//\s+const', etc.
