Description

It would be helpful to have a way to manually merge contacts. It'll make syncing contacts from external sources easier since that way i can keep, say, google contacts as my book of records for all my contacts and resync that with this periodically

Also while uploading contacts, if the name matches, it would great to have an option to compare it with existing contacts and ask if user wants to update the existing contact instead

Research direction
Investigate how contacts are currently imported and stored in the database. Look at the existing Import controllers and models to understand the data flow. Consider how to detect duplicate names and present a merge interface to the user. Evaluate if there are existing tests for contact merging.
